Automated nutrition calculation is the WordPress plugin’s most anticipated functionality for recipe card users
BOCA RATON, Fla., Dec. 17, 2018 — Create by Mediavine, a WordPress plugin solution for content creators, introduced its newest feature this week: automated nutrition calculation for recipe cards. As with the Create plugin itself and all of the features, this functionality is free for users.
Since its launch in October, Create by Mediavine has continued to improve upon the user interface of many popular recipe cards to introduce several never-before-seen features. The plugin has also sought to make available several features that have previously only been available through paid or “pro-version” plugins, such as automated nutrition calculation.
Create’s automated nutrition calculation functionality is powered by Nutritionix, which uses natural language processing to pull data based on a recipe’s ingredient list and automatically calculate a full panel of nutritional facts.
When a Create user edits an existing or new recipe card, they will be able to calculate the full nutrition panel with Nutritionix after inputting the number of servings. The user will then be asked to approve the figures before they are added to the recipe card.
“Google has been marking calories per serving as a recommended metric for some time now, but we know that many users don’t have the time or ability to calculate this themselves.
