It’s hard to believe we are already two-thirds of the way through the second season of the Mediavine Summer of Live!

If you haven’t been following along, the Summer of Live is our weekly Facebook Live series about all things Mediavine and blogging.

Our host and Marketing Manager Jenny Guy is a gregarious, hilarious soul and she’s so fun to watch. Each week, Jenny easily guides our guests and live audience through the topic at hand, asking thoughtful questions. Thanks to Facebook’s Live video feature, audience members can participate live by asking questions in the comments.

In June, we covered all things Mediavine in the first month of live videos, talking about everything from Mediavine’s 5,000th publisher, our 4th anniversary as an ad management provider, plus our products Create and Trellis!

We just wrapped up the second month of episodes, focused on all things “Beyond Blogging.” This month we tackled monetizing beyond digital ads, with things like writing books and teaching courses, opening a shop and volunteering.

Today we’re recapping all of July’s episodes so you can catch up if you missed an episode. And if you missed Season 1, you can catch all of those videos here on the blog or on our YouTube channel too!

Summer of Live: Season 2, Part 2

Episode 5: Giving Back with Your Blog

Guests: Julie Deily of The Little Kitchen and Betsy Eves of JavaCupcake

To kick off the Beyond Blogging series, Jenny chatted with Julie and Betsy about how they turned their passion into compassion. By nature, all bloggers are passionate helpers. They devote hours of their time to sharing their expertise and experience to help their readers. But some bloggers, like Julie and Betsy, take this helpful nature to a new level. They’ve found ways to leverage their skills and audience to benefit important charities on a large scale. (Recorded July 2, 2019)

Episode 6: Publishing Books

Guests: Jen Ruiz of Jen on a Jet Plane and Valerie Stimac of Space Tourism Guide and Valerie & Valise

If you’ve ever wanted to publish a book, then you’ll love this episode of the Summer of Live. Writing a book is a natural segue for many bloggers, because there’s always more to say about a topic you’re an expert in. Jenny talked to two Mediavine influencers who are both published authors about working with agents, self-publishing, pitching, marketing and more. (Recorded July 11, 2019)

Episode 7: Selling Products

Guests: Erin Chase of $5 Dinners and Chloe Mackintosh of Boxwood Avenue

Is it time to set up shop?! If you’re ready to go beyond the blog and expand your business with digital or physical products, this episode is for you. Jenny hosted product creation aces Erin and Chloe to talk about how they’ve expanded their blog with virtual storefronts, e-commerce and digital products. Whether you’re already generating products or brand new to this revenue stream, you don’t want to miss this Live! (Recorded July 18, 2019)

Episode 8: Creating Courses

Guests: Jessie Festa of Jessie on a Journey and Hilary Erickson of Pulling Curls

If you’re expert enough to blog, you’re expert enough to teach a course. In this episode of the Mediavine Summer of Live, we took our Beyond Blogging focus to Jessie and Hilary who broke down the nuts and bolts of course creation. Step outside your earning comfort zone and diversify those revenue streams with our two experts on this episode of Mediavine’s Summer of Live. (Recorded July 23, 2019)

In August we’re focusing on making it rain! All of our guests will be sharing monetization and SEO strategies you can implement on your site.

Our next episode is Wednesday, August 7th at 3 p.m. EST talking about Affiliate Marketing, with Jeannine Crooks from global affiliate marketing network Awin and Amanda Williams of the blog A Dangerous Business.

And once the Mediavine Summer of Live is over at the end of August, we’ll be taking a short break before we resume with Season 2 of Teal Talk! If you have suggestions for topics or guests, we’d love to hear them at sponsored@mediavine.com.
